below you see one of many search engines which are used by millions of internet travellers every day. the "digital hijack" action started on 31th March 1996 and was officialy stopped on 1st of August 1996. in that period special etoy.SOFTWARE-AGENTS generated thousands of dummy trap pages each containing one of 2400 popular keywords (like porsche, penthouse, madonna, fassbinder...) which automaticly have been placed within the international search-engines (all in the top10-ranking). due to the fight etoy have been involved with the search-server-corporations, these entries changed daily... some of them have been removed since, but there are still many traps out there, which have not been discovered by anyone up-to-now. we lost control.
